Packers and Movers Bangalore, Movers and Packers Hyderabad Moving can be a stressful business and one that can be made
even more traumatic if you fail to pack your possessions properly.
Here
are a few top packing and packaging services tips gleaned from removals
industry experts.
1.
Give serious consideration to using professional packaging services if you are
planning to move items that are fragile or highly valuable. Adequately
protecting special items is sometimes a lot more difficult than it at first
appears.
2.
Don't skimp on your expenditure on appropriate packing materials. A few rolled
up balls of scrap newspaper just won't be sufficient protection for very
fragile or delicate items. Instead use things like polystyrene foam,
polystyrene balls and bubble wrap.
3.
You can save money though by purchasing (or borrowing) a cheap shredder and
clearing out all that ancient paperwork sitting in the garage or loft. Once
shredded, papers can be a useful space filler in cartons and boxes. Don't see
this though as a cheap replacement for those professional materials mentioned
above.
4.
Use only strong cartons and boxes that have been rated for removals services.
They have to be capable of standing the weight of perhaps several boxes or
other objects placed on top of them in the lorry.
5.
Try to make sure that the weight is as evenly distributed as possible in the
boxes you are using. If your cartons have previously been used it might be
sensible to ensure that any seams are doubly re-enforced by the use of some
strong good-quality adhesive tape.
6.
When you are packing an item that has ordinary and therefore fragile glass
contained as part of it (e.g. A mirror or perhaps some types of antique clock)
investigate whether it would be possible to remove the glass and wrap and
protect it separately. Glass that is inside an object that is wrapped
separately can be fairly vulnerable to shock-wave damage even if the object
itself is protected. If you can't remove it, you may wish to try, where
feasible, putting some sort of adhesive or packing on the glass to stop it
rattling around.
7.
Don't overload your boxes. Trying to jam as much as possible into a single
carton is something you typically won't see experienced packaging services
doing because although it might save a little on cartons, the more stuff in a
single carton, the higher the chances are of something getting broken.
8.
Make sure every carton is clearly labelled with your name and destination
address. To save yourself confusion upon arrival, make sure the outside of the
box also contains something that indicates which room in your new property it
is destined for.
9.
Don't pack liquids. Try to use up things like washing up liquid, cooking oil,
liquid soap and all such related domestic items in the days prior to your
removal. Such items are extremely vulnerable to spills, however well you pack
them. If you have no alternative but to take liquids with you, make sure they
are packed entirely separately in fluid-tight containers.
10.
Don't pack any hazardous chemicals. Anything that is inflammable or corrosive
should be strictly avoided - unless you wish to put your insurance at risk and
in some cases risk prosecution.
